میں نے بڑی کوشش کی کہ قرآن پڑھ کر خود کو سنی ثابت کروں مگر ناکام رہا. میں نے تمام قرانی سورتیں پڑھیں مگر مجھے نہ کوئی شیعہ ملا، نہ بریلوی، نہ دیوبندی اور نہ ہی اہلحدیث. میں نے کوشش کی کہ اسوۂ محمّد (S.A.W) کو پڑھ کر اپنے آپ کو کسی فرقے سے جوڑوں مگر یہاں بھی مجھے ناکامی ہوئی. ہر جگہ ماسوائے ایک مسلمان (مسلم) کے اپنی کوئی دوسری پہچان نہ ملی. اگر فرقے کا کہیں ذکر آیا بھی تو رد کرنے کے انداز میں، ایک گناہ، ایک تنبیہ کی حیثیت سے. ان سب واضح احکامات کے باوجود آج ہم مسلمان کے علاوہ سب کچھ ہیں. ہم فرقوں میں اس برے طرح بٹ گئے کہ ہماری اصل شناخت ہی گم ہو گئ -
