Dua is a great act of Ibaadah (worship), which ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) has granted to the umm'ah (followers) of Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم ). 

It is an act of Ibaad'ah (worship) which creates a direct link between a person and ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى). 

It makes a person realize that ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) is the only One who can fulfil his or her needs. 

It is for these reasons that Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم ) refers to Dua (دعاء) as "the essence of Ibaad'ah"
(Bukhari Shareef). 

Some muhaditheen explain that since Dua carries such great reward, therefore it is referred to "the essence of Ibaad'ah". 

The fact that ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) has made mention of Dua in the Qur'an is sufficient and clear evidence to prove the lofty status of Dua in our Deen (religion).

The following are a few Verse (aayath) of the Qur'an pertaining to Dua.

"And your Lord says: Make Dua (supplicate) unto me, and I will respond and accept your Dua".
(Sur'ah Ghaafir: Ayat 60) 

"I respond and accept the Dua of the one who supplicates unto me".[ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى)] 
(Sur'ah Al Baqarah: Ayath 186) 

"Make Dua unto ALLAH (سبحانه وتعالى) with humility and secret".
(Sur'ah Ale Imraan: Ayat 55) 

On this blessed days of Dhul Hijjah
I humbly request all to remember myself and family in your Dua's

اللهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدِنِ النَّبِيِّ الأُمِّيِّ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَسَلِّمْ تَسْلِيْمً
