What are the 3 ahadeeth which are considered to be the foundation of Islam?
The first hadith which is considered amongst the pillar of Islam...
*To seek Allaah's pleasure should be the aim*
Narrated Umar bin Al Khattab: I heard Allah's Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم saying, "The (reward of) deeds, depend upon the intentions and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended. So whoever emigrated for the sake of Allah and His Messenger, then his emigration will be considered to be for Allah and His Messenger, and whoever emigrated for the sake of worldly gain or for a woman to marry, then his emigration will be considered to be for what he emigrated for." (Bukhari & Muslim)
The second Hadith...
*The deeds should be according to the Sunnah - no innovations allowed*
On the authority of Aishah, who said: The messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "He who innovates something in this matter of ours that is not of it will have it rejected." (Bukhari and Muslim)
And in one version by Muslim it reads: "He who does an act which our matter is not [in agreement] with will have it rejected."
The third Hadith...
*The religion is complete. Everything that benefits or harms the people has been made clear*
On the authority of Al-Numan bin Basheer, who said: I heared the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم say: "That which is lawful is plain and that which is unlawful is plain and between the two of them are doubtful matters about which not many people know. Thus he who avoids doubtful matters clears himself in regard to his religion and his honor, but he who falls into doubtful matters falls into that which is unlawful, like the shepherd who pastures around a sanctuary, all but grazing therein. Truly every king has a sanctuary, and truly Allah's sanctuary is His prohibitions. Truly in the body there is a morsel of flesh which, if it be whole, all the body is whole and which, if it be diseased, all of it is diseased. Truly it is the heart."...
